1st Saturday Birding

Our next first Saturday bird outing will be taking place on September 5th at 8:30 AM. These birding opportunities are intended to center women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ folks.  We will be meeting at the Jasper Road Trailhead in Springfield here: https://goo.gl/maps/WoVpjdcHGhGUY8kH8.

We will walk on the Mill Race path towards the Middle Fork Trail and do a small river loop. This walk is on maintained trails and paths. The paths are flat (29-foot elevation gain in total) and paved. The loop is 2 miles long. There is a gender-neutral public restroom at the trailhead.

We plan to bird for at least two hours. The forecast is currently predicting a temperate and drizzly morning, but conditions may change. Please check the forecast before the walk and bring appropriate gear to be comfortable (rain gear, brimmed hat, extra water, etc.). We will meet rain or shine.

We will have one extra pair of binoculars available, a scope to share with folks, and a couple of field guides.Please let us know if you have any questions or if you have an accessibility need that you would like to share with us. Please let us know if you plan to attend.
