Urge Your Legislators to Support One Percent for Wildlife

We have an opportunity to help pass a bill that would directly support Oregon wildlife and habitat. Legislators will consider the “One Percent for Wildlife” bill in February, during the short session of the Oregon legislature. The bill raises the transient lodging tax (vacation stays) by 1.25 %.

An economic analysis of the bill showed no negative economic impact. Oregon’s transient lodging tax would still be among the lowest in the nation, and the state’s tourism economy would continue to grow. The bill would help fund the State Wildlife Action Plan to protect some of our most vulnerable and imperiled species and their habitats. It would also boost funding for other conservation programs, such as habitat connectivity, wildlife rehabilitation facilities, and anti-poaching efforts.

Your legislators need to hear from you, their constituents! Urge them to support the “One Percent for Wildlife” bill.
