Volunteer Appreciation Party

On Sunday afternoon, November 2, a group of 34 volunteers enjoyed sharing pizza, desserts, drinks, and door prizes at the Garden Club. Represented were the Board, program presenters and organizers, Christmas Bird Count team leaders, The Quail, the recording secretary, Birds in the Schools, Bird Outings, Habitat Haven, and Field Notes.

Thanks to all who made it! We appreciate all our volunteers, the heart of our organization! And thank you to Doak Creek Nursery, Cascades Raptor Center, Wild Birds Unlimited,andEugene TruValue Hardware for donations!

Thanks to Mary Arendt!

We want to give a big Thank You to Mary Arendt for helping send out Thank You postcards to our members who sent in donations and memberships via snail mail. Mary helped with this for almost three years, and it was great to have her reliable and caring hand on this important task.

The following volunteers deserve CCBA’s thanks at two recent local events. Those who volunteered at the Wings on Willamette (WoW) event in Alton Baker Park on October 12, 2026, were Barbara Bryson, Mitch Boriskin, Miriam Gage, Barbara Gleason, Cecelia Hagen, Rich Hoyer, Barb Pope, Charlie Quinn, Ron Renchler, Sarah Shmigelsky, Maeve Sowles, Tammie Stark,Kelly Steiner,and Marcus Vejar.

Debbie Schlenoff deserves special thanks for organizing the event.

CCBA would also like to thank the following organizations for participating in WoW: Cascades Raptor Center, City of Eugene Native Plant Nursery, McKenzie River Trust, Mount Pisgah Arboretum, Nearby Nature, Wild Birds Unlimited, WREN,andtheUO Avian Conservation Class.

Those who volunteered for booth staffing at the Mt. Pisgah Mushroom Festival on October 26, were Connie Berglund, Stone, Karen and Tim Fielder, andRon Renchler. Special thanks go to Denise and Brian Rogers, who not only staffed the booth at Mt. Pisgah but also helped carry the booth materials out to the parking lot for loading.
