Your Chance to Give Back

As many of you know, Lane County Audubon Society (LCAS) is transitioning to a new name: Coast to Cascades Bird Alliance. This name change was made in coordination with many other chapters across the nation and in Oregon.

Under our new name and abbreviation, CCBA, we will still offer all the membership rewards and activities that we’ve offered in the past— two monthly bird outings and other birding opportunities, monthly educational presentations, Birds in the Schools (formerly Audubon in the Schools), Audubon Adventures, bike path cleanups, and much much more.

As CCBA, we’ll also continue to publish our newsletter—The Quail—which keeps you informed about our upcoming activities and events and provides you with updates about conservation and educational initiatives related to birds and other wildlife in our area.

In the last year or so, we’ve also added some new programs to the mix:

*Habitat Haven, a program emphasizing the value of planting native plants in at least part of your yard for the benefit of birds, bees, and other pollinators.

*Bird Cities–We’ve become actively engaged in creating Bird City status for Eugene, Yachats, and other towns and cities throughout the region. The Quail will keep you posted about these and other initiatives CCBA sponsors throughout the year.

Here’s your chance to give back to the organization. You can join CCBA now and/or renew your membership annually. You can volunteer your time to help us promote and carry out any of our activities and events. Or you can make a donation, large or small, to CCBA as a gesture of your appreciation for what the organization does to keep our natural world healthy.

We ask for your support in our newsletter only once each year. You can now make your check out to Coast to Cascades Bird Alliance; both our former name and current name are accepted by our bank.
