3rd Saturday Birding August 15

This month’s 3 rd Saturday Bird Walk will be at Fern Ridge Reservoir – Royal Avenue Access on August 15st at 8am. It will be lead by Kristen Vale. Meet at the gated entrance where Royal Ave dead ends with Fern Ridge (44.070761, -123.257518). Approximate address is: 27720 Royal Ave, Eugene, OR 97402. Free street parking is available along the shoulder of Royal Ave, or you can park in the designated gravel parking lot with an ODFW permit; daily permits are $10 and can be purchased at: odfw.huntfishoregon.com. Leave valuables at home, not in your car. Our walk will be on gravel or rough grass trails. This can be a long walk, at least 2 miles, and participants may turn back at any point to adjust the distance to suit their needs for the day. Please come prepared to enjoy your day in this natural area by bringing water, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen as this walk is out in the open with no shade.

Trail conditions – Flat trails on gravel and rough grass. It can be a long walk and folks can turn back at any point to adjust the time and distance to best suit their day. Anticipate at least 2 miles of walking. Prepare for the natural conditions of this area. Consider bringing water, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc.
